Epic Systems has been appraised at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Certification for Software Development. CMMI is a capability improvement framework that includes software industry best practices such as project management, process management, systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and other supporting processes used in the development and maintenance of software products and projects.

An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates that organization is performing at a “defined” level where   processes are well characterized and well understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

Epic Systems’ founder Chandra Mouli Nallamala, the torchbearer and innovative leader who transformed mission critical applications across federal agencies had remarked “Epic Systems has created agile operating culture and consistently followed software engineering process management programs in our journey of growth, and for winning the confidence of our customers. Following this spirit “Epic Systems is strongly committed to provide highest quality services to our clients and achieve optimal efficiency through implementation of matured industry standard CMMI processes that are in alignment with mission critical goals of our customers”.

CMMI Institute is the global leader in the advancement of best practices in people, process, and technology. The Institute provides the tools and support for organizations to benchmark their capabilities and build maturity by comparing their operations to best practices and identifying performance gaps.
