Job Summary:
The Data Analyst is responsible for performing advanced data analysis, designing, coding, and testing functional components of information systems, developing project documentation, and supporting data integration and quality initiatives. This role involves using SQL for data extraction, creating reports, and designing visual dashboards using Tableau. The Data Analyst will leverage advanced analytics techniques to extract insights and improve business intelligence outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Design and Development:
- Design, code, and test functional components of information systems according to project specifications.
- Document and analyze the organization’s current business process flows.
Requirements Documentation:
- Identify and document functional requirements for information systems.
- Develop project documentation and user training materials in accordance with program specifications.
Data Extraction and Advanced Analysis:
- Produce database development/data extraction using SQL to create reporting queries.
- Perform advanced data analysis using statistical methods, data mining, and other analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights from datasets.
Data Integration and Quality:
- Assist in data integration using standard techniques and ensure data quality improvements.
- Apply data quality improvement techniques and advanced analytics to enhance data accuracy and reliability.
Dashboard Development:
- Create visual dashboards using Tableau, ensuring a blend of creative design and effective reporting.
- Use advanced analytics to enhance dashboard functionality and provide deeper insights.
Reporting and Communication:
- Generate standard or custom reports for executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation and deliverables demonstrate expert-level technical writing skills.
Business Intelligence Tool Management:
- Maintain and update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and systems.
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of dashboards using Tableau.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data extraction and advanced data analysis.
- Experience with Tableau or other business intelligence and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, data mining, and other advanced analytics techniques.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
