Job Summary:
The Data Scientist is responsible for performing advanced analytics, providing requirements analysis, developing comprehensive documentation, and executing data integration activities. This role requires expertise in database development, schema documentation, and data integration, including the development of ETL scripts and capturing new or updated data sources. The Data Scientist will also focus on applying advanced analytics techniques to integrate business intelligence data and provide actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Analysis:

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for data integration and advanced analytics projects.
  2. Identify and define data sources and requirements for integration into existing systems.

Documentation Development:

  1. Develop a full range of technical documentation, including glossaries, process diagrams, Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams, state diagrams, and interaction context diagrams.
  2. Ensure compliance with database development standards and best practices.

Database Schema Management:

  1. Document and communicate database schemas using industry-accepted notations.
  2. Maintain and update database schemas as needed.

Data Integration and ETL Development:

  1. Design, develop, and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into reporting tables.
  2. Capture and integrate new or updated data sources into the central database.

Advanced Analytics:

  1. Apply advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis to derive insights from integrated data sources.
  2. Develop and deploy models to support data-driven decision-making and optimize business outcomes.

Business Intelligence Integration:

  1. Collect and integrate commercial travel business intelligence data from industry reports, public information, field reports, or purchased sources.
  2. Ensure data accuracy and relevance for business intelligence purposes.

Technical Writing:

  1. Demonstrate expert technical writing skills to document processes, database schemas, technical specifications, and analytical models.
  2. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Strong technical writing skills.  

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Proven experience in data integration, ETL development, and advanced analytics.

Proficiency in SQL, database schema design, and statistical programming languages such as Python or R.

Experience with machine learning frameworks and business intelligence tools.
